Reviews and Ratings
The hotel was very basic and not ideal for a longer stay. The rooms were disappointing, with dirty walls and thin curtains letting in a lot of light. However, the staff was friendly and helpful, though not always punctual. The location was convenient for work purposes but tiny. The dining options were limited but homemade items were available.
The hotel was on a main road, causing disturbances from passing cars throughout the night. Although we paid £75 a night expecting better, it felt more like a £50 budget hotel. The service was welcoming and accommodating but lacked punctuality during standard check-in or check-out hours. The location was convenient for specific areas in Oxford, close to hospitals, but being above a barbershop and surrounded by shops could be noisy and less tranquil. The dining options were basic and not inexpensive. The facilities were as expected for this price range.
The hotel had a lovely shower in the room, but it was not visible from the bed, and there was a stale smell. Despite that, the room was quiet with an excellent wet room and good short. The service was extremely nice, but there were some issues with noise outside, especially when people were coming in drunk. The location to stay outside the room was acceptable for work, despite being in Cowley which is in a bad area on top of some shops. The dining experience was okay for one night at the Oxford House, but it isn't cheap. The facilities were sufficient.
